Everyone's hair has its own unique aroma – and just like mosquitoes, head lice use their sense of smell to detect the presence of 'new' hair during even very brief head-to-head contact. Our Nitty Gritty Conditioning Defence Spray doesn't just keep your hair in great condition, it also messes up their 'radar'; by masking your hair's unique aroma it encourages head lice to stay on their existing host rather than migrate.

After you have used our award-winning Nitty Gritty NitFree Comb to clear an infestation, we recommend daily use of our Nitty Gritty Conditioning Defence Spray for all the family above the age of two. It's a carefully chosen blend of ingredients with a lovely grapefruit scent, that will not only keep those pesky lice at bay but keeps everyone's hair fragranced, soft, shiny, de-tangled and in tip-top condition. It's an eco- and family-friendly 250ml atomiser spray that will last for ages.

How to use

1. Make sure the hair is completely tangle free using your regular brush or comb.
2.  Apply Nitty Gritty Aromatherapy Solution to the whole length of the hair and scalp, leaving the Solution on the hair for at
least 20 minutes. Make sure you saturate the scalp and coat hair from roots to ends.
3. Then use clips or bands to part longer hair into 4-6 sections, depending on hair thickness and length. (This helps stops headlice moving out of the area you’re combing).
4. Comb through each section from roots to ends using the enclosed plastic nit comb, clearing each section of all lice and eggs before you move onto the next section. *
5. Continue combing frequently until you are sure that you have got everything out, taking the comb along the whole length of the hair on each stroke. Pay particular attention to the area close to the scalp, behind the ears and at the nape of the neck, as this is where lice like to lay their eggs.
6. After every two or three combings, rinse the comb under the tap to clear it of any lice or eggs.
7. Once finished wash the Solution out with your regular shampoo, and rinse thoroughly. Then just condition as normal and dry the hair as you would normally.
8. Repeat ten days later to clear any newly-hatched lice, unless you are using the Solution with our Nitty Gritty NitFree Comb [because our NitFree comb removes eggs before they hatch, putting a stop to any infestation immediately.]

If for any reason you are not satisfied with your order, simply return it within 14 days of delivery and we will replace it or provide a refund to the value of the item (excluding shipping). The items to be returned or exchanged have to be unused, in their original condition, in their original box and properly labelled.

Damaged Goods

Please check the contents of your package on arrival. Should any items be damaged during shipment, it is important that you notify us upon opening the package and take a photograph (if possible). Also, please keep all packaging materials from the shipment. Should any item be faulty please contact us as described below so that we can provide a replacement item once the original item is returned.
